After work yesterday I took the boys to go see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. My goodness are those kids growing up! I'm curious to see how they're going to pull off the last couple of movies when its obvious the cast has matured beyond their book counterparts.
Not that it matters to me really. The story is what's important, not the age of my three favorite characters. (I will be sooo pissed if any of them dies in the last book...)
Watching the movie with the boys was funny. My oldest boy is a lot like his mom in that he doesn't care all that much for "scary" movies. Not that he thinks HP is exactly scary. He likes most of the movie just fine. The only parts that really get to him have that dramatic music score pounding through the speakers. He covers his ears, closes his eyes, and tells me "take my ears off, mom, when it's over."
Take his ears off. How funny is that!
My youngest, on the other hand, is quite a bit braver. He only flinched a couple of times. And he never covered his eyes.
I have to say I was incredibly impressed with Looney Luna. The casting was brilliant. I hope the girl playing her gets the acknowledgement she deserves.
I don't want to post any spoilers. Although if you've read the book, there really aren't any. They did a fair job of sticking to the plot and explaining things in the time allotted. My sister, who is very picky about such things, was even impressed with how well they did.
I've decided I'd like to expand my photography skills and experience. This means I need willing models. So far I've got a couple of people who might be willing to let me practice on them. I'm excited but nervous. I want so badly to take amazing pictures and give them each something they like. Shoot #1: Mom wants me to take Christmas pictures of her three daughters. I'm very excited, but I also want a lovely background. I was thinking of taking them to a park or some other such setting where there's a lot of pines. The problem is that Fall has just arrived and these are supposed to be Christmas pictures. Any suggestions? Shoot #2: A senior. I think I'm okay on this one. She wants fall colors in her pictures, so I just need to wait for the trees to do their thing. Then its a matter of finding the right location. Now here's my real delimna: Where do I upload them so they can be printed to look like professional pictures? Rounded corners and im...
"Take my ears off"?!?!?! How cute is that?? I'm glad you enjoyed the movie with the boys!
ReplyDeleteConnor is such a die-hard HP fan! I, on the other hand, have never read a book and only seen the first two movies. That being said, I'm sure you pay attention to the news following the phenomenon more than I do, but I did hear Harry dies in the last one......
Give everyone a hug for me! Love you!
That's the rumor. But the book doesn't come out until next week, so we'll see.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I have a hard time believing Scholastic would allow her to kill off the boy-hero in a children's series. If these books hadn't been sold, packaged, and marketed mainly for children I'd be somewhat more accepting of that ending...but I'd still be pissed.
