First Kiss

Well, I did get a chance to write yesterday after the kids went to bed. I ended up deleting a hundred or so words and tweaking a sentence or two in the previous chapter for continuity purposes. Only then was I able to make some forward progress, including the first big kiss between the hero and heroine. I'll reread it tonight to find out if it's as good as I thought it was last night.

I'm sure I'll tweak it here and there. I'm forever tweaking...

  1. It's an addiction...write a little, tweak. Write a little more, tweak again.

  3. When does the tweaking stop? That's what I want to know.

    * sigh *

    Good luck!

  4. I only begin tweaking after the whole thing is drafted, otherwise I get stuck and stalled and otherwise unproductive.

    As for when it stops . . . all I can say is when it's as good as you can make it at that time. You may end up tweaking it again (after it's been rejected a time or two or three, maybe), but for that moment it's as good as you think you can do with it.

    Barring that, there's just got be a time when you go, "ok, time to let this one go."

    And only you can find that place.
