Looking for Willing Victims

I've decided I'd like to expand my photography skills and experience. This means I need willing models. So far I've got a couple of people who might be willing to let me practice on them. I'm excited but nervous. I want so badly to take amazing pictures and give them each something they like. Shoot #1: Mom wants me to take Christmas pictures of her three daughters. I'm very excited, but I also want a lovely background. I was thinking of taking them to a park or some other such setting where there's a lot of pines. The problem is that Fall has just arrived and these are supposed to be Christmas pictures. Any suggestions? Shoot #2: A senior. I think I'm okay on this one. She wants fall colors in her pictures, so I just need to wait for the trees to do their thing. Then its a matter of finding the right location. The Agent Hunt

Okay, so I talked a lot about self-publishing the novel, but now that I'm sitting here with a revised manuscript, I've decided to give it a fighting chance in the big, bad world of Publishing. You know, the Industry. And, yes, all those capital letters are needed for proper emphasis. So far, I've had one contract for representation offered. I turned it down. There were too many red flags for me to blissfully ignore. First, all correspondance was automated. Even after they said they'd like to represent my work, the e-mails still arrived in the form of a form letter. If that wasn't weird enough, they didn't charge any fees (oh, no! never. not until we sell you...), but they couldn't refer me fast enough to a "professional critiquing service". Uh huh. Partners in crime, there. So, I declined their offer and sent out the next query. Keep your fingers crossed!

Whelp. It's Been a Minute.

Has it really been almost three years since I've posted anything here? Not to be dramatic, but A LOT HAS CHANGED. Mostly, me. When I last wrote something for the blog, this was me. I'm the one in the middle. Fast forward three years. This is me now. 25 pounds lighter. More confident. Happier! I have been on more than just a weight journey. I have evolved. I have become someone who enjoys wearing cute, dare I say, even sexy clothes. My wardrobe has exploded. My shoes are out of control. My jewelry boxes overflow. This isn't a brag because almost everything comes from discount stores like Temu and Shein. It's a testament to how fundamentally different I am from the mom/wife who used to wear the same thing day after day and, more often than not, appeared frumpy. I hid in baggy sweatshirts and overly large sweaters. I did not feel cute or sexy back then for a variety of reasons that are more fit for a private journal than this blog. Those days are done....
